How long does the course last?
Although there is no contract, so you can leave at any time, the course is designed to resemble a traditional Drama School as closely as possible. You will therefore receive at least three lessons per week for three years, becoming progressively more advanced with each semester.
Will I receive a recognised qualification?
Those students that wish to will be entered in to LAMDA exams to level 8. LAMDA is recognised to award qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), in Wales by Qualifications Wales (QiW), and in Northern Ireland by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA)
Is there an additional cost for the workshops?
The price of weekend courses are kept to a minimum to encourage as many students to attend as possible.
When can I appear in the Graduation Showcase?
Normally it will be when you have finished the course, however provided that you have completed at least one year you can apply to be included early. The acceptance of that application will be entirely at the discretion of your tutors.
How will I get to work with other students?
The weekend workshops are great opportunities to meet up with your fellow local students. In most cases we will use these as opportunities to pair you to work on dialogues.
How are my assignments marked?
Most of your assignments will involve you sending in a video of your work. One of your tutors will send you back their feedback.
Where are the Weekend Workshops held?
Workshops are held at various theatres throughout the country. You can choose to travel to them all or just attend the ones that are nearest to you.
Is there an alternative to the Graduation Showcase?
If for whatever reason you are unable to attend a graduation showcase after completing the course we will arrange for a video showreel of your work to be distributed to casting directors and agents.
How do I access my classroom?
When you sign up for the course you will be sent a link which will enable you to choose your own password for access to the classroom. Go to your classroom on a regular basis to see your new lessons and have permanent access to your previous lessons (making revision easy). If you haven't received this link within 10 minutes of signing up, please check you junk folder. If you still haven't received it contact us immediately.
Will the the course allow me to join Spotlight?
